| mark, I fish with mostly live bait without using anything to mask the human scent. Do you use any of these products and does it really work ? I was thinking of using surgical gloves, but those get hot after a while. |

Dear Daverod:
I am aware of the effects of scent on fish, but I have not used anything to mask the human scent on bait and none of the captains with whom I have fished use anything.

Surgical gloves are made of latex and have thier own odor. I doubt they would work.

Dear Dave:
As I noted earlier, I have a bunch of commercially available products that can be sprayed on bait touted to attract predators, but I haven't really used any. On occasion, I have sprayed WD-40 on dead balao to attract sharks and it has worked. WD-40 is made from fish oils or at least has them in the formula.
