I am a lady angler and watch your show with my husband.
Just curious why you never bait your hook or touch the fish?
Whomever you fish with always takes care of that.
Odd to me that a fisherman like you would not display those techinques!
Thanks., :?

Dear Flatmadd 50:

The format of our show is for me to fish with a professional guide and captain. His job is to run the boat, find the fish, bait hooks, handle fish at the boat, etc. If I did all that, what would he do? We try to showcase the captain in the role he plays on a daily basis. I can assure you that over the years, I have baited hooks, gaffed or netted fish, removed hooks, chummed, and handled every other chore.

Coming from another Lady Angler..but using my husband's words... I guess "It's good to be King." I often run the boat, help to find the fish, cut the bait, fetch the gear and yet rarely do I get to reel in the fish. Crying or Very sad I tell myself..the more we are on the water, the more my chances will increase and one day my time will come! Very Happy I'm new to your site, I love it and can't wait to see your show!

Hello John:

It's often difficult to convince people that I am an educator and journalist and am NOT a captain, guide, or professional fisherman. As I noted earlier, all our shows are shot with guides and I try to showcase how skilled and knowledgeable they are in finding fish and performing those services. This approach has worked well for us over many years.
