I am going down to Stuart Florida in June 18 2010. im staying there for 1 week and i dont have a boat. i am going fishing on a dock located behind my hotel/marina at night and afternoon. also i will be fishing the jetties. All my fishing will be done off the shore or on a boat dock/peir. i would love to catch some sort of Tarpon, Snook, Permit/Pompano, Jack, or any other kinda sport fish inshore. I was wondering if anyone would have tips for in this area. like what type of baits these fish would most likely bite and what kind of setup i should use. Any tips for the stuart area would be Great and a huge help to my success. thanks for the help

Dear Mr. Graham:
I had hoped someone who fishes the Stuart area much more than I do would have answered your request for information. There should be snook in the inlet and around the jetties. Almost everything down here eats live shrimp. Tarpon will often pick up a fresh dead bait off the bottom such as half a mullet (use the head section first). Jacks will frequently chase a variety of artificial baits. If you can't be natural baits, try bouncing a bucktail across the bottom or use a leadhead with soft plastic for a tail.
I hope this helps.
